The municipalities of Saugeen Shores and West Grey are receiving millions of dollars in provincial funding for water system infrastructure upgrades.

Local members of provincial parliament announced in recent days that the Town of Saugeen Shores would receive almost $18 million in funding to upgrade Southampton’s water pollution control plant, while the Municipality of West Grey will receive more than $3.7 million to upgrade and expand Durham’s water works assets.

Both grants come from the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund, a stream of the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program.
