The family of a man killed in a crash on Interstate 59/20 in Bessemer six months ago is hoping to find a transport truck they believe led to the accident.

Terence Bernard Summers Jr., 24, was driving on March 18 around lunchtime when he crashed near the exit at Academy Drive and Alabama Adventure.

He hit a large metal object in the road, which appears to be a blade that may be used in sawmill operations, according to the family.

They believe it had fallen from a truck and Summers was not able to avoid hitting it. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
