BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont’s school district could be facing a potential takeover by the state due to poor school performance following the release of 2025 A-F accountability ratings from the Texas Education Agency.
The Austin American-Statesmen is reporting that the Beaumont Independent School District is one of four districts that are at risk of being taken over by the state due to low school performance.
The Statesman is reporting that Beaumont ISD, along with Connally, Wichita Falls and Lake Worth ISDs each had at least one campus that has received a fifth consecutive failing grade.
Seven Beaumont ISD campuses received failing grades for the 2024-2025 school year, according to data currently available on the Texas Education Association website.
