DURANT — Durant Public Schools unveiled a new aviation laboratory, expanding its aerospace education program in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics . The lab was funded through the department’s Classroom and Laboratory Improvement Grant Program.

The district, now in its fifth year of aviation coursework, offers students a career pathway in Oklahoma’s second-largest industry. Superintendent Mark Moring and STEM Director Zac Morgan emphasized the program’s role in preparing students for college and career readiness. State Sen. David Bullard , R-Durant, and ODAA Aerospace STEM Manager Paula Kedy praised the district’s leadership in STEM and commitment to aerospace education.
