Prominent Niagara-on-the-Lake developer Benny Marotta has applied to the town’s committee of adjustment to merge a portion of property where Glencairn Hall is located with his nearby land.

Marotta, who owns two acres at 14785 Niagara River Pky., wants to acquire 0.56 acres of the 14795 Niagara River Pky. land and merge it with his property to the south “though a boundary adjustment.”

Marotta is a well-known developer and entrepreneur in the Niagara region. He operates Solmar Development Corp., which is looking to develop the Randwood Estate. He has received approval from the town to build a hotel on the former Parliament Oak school property on King Street. And along with the rest of his family he operates Two Sisters Vineyard.
