GREENSBORO, N.C. — Two major events are underway this weekend at the Greensboro Complex .

The Carolina Cluster Dog Show , held in partnership with the Carolina Kennel Club , kicked off earlier this week and continues through Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Special Events Center.

Carl Ashby, chair of the Carolina Cluster, said more than 6,000 dogs are expected to participate over the four-day event, with around 2,500 attendees traveling from across the eastern United States, He said the show has an estimated $150,000 to $200,000 in local economic impact.

“We have people mainly from East of the Mississippi, but we have a lot of people who drive in for these events,” Ashby said.

The show features agility and obedience demonstrations and celebrates the preservation of purebred dogs.
