BELEWS CREEK, N.C. — All Lealia Martin wanted was to enjoy her quiet country home with a functional sliding screen door. What she got instead was a year-long frustration, multiple failed fixes, and months of unanswered calls .

The ranch-style home, built in the 1970s, had undergone a few updates, with the patio doors being her latest investment.

“I had a lot of places come give me estimates because I wanted the same style doors,” Martin said.

After choosing a vendor, signing a contract, and installing the new doors, a problem was immediately apparent. The sliding screen didn’t fit. The installer reported it to the company, and a replacement was ordered.
