WASHINGTON — A Prince George’s County man is facing felony charges after he allegedly threatened another driver on the Beltway during a road rage incident, police say.

Maryland State Police charged Eric Scroggins, 52, of Temple Hills, with first and second-degree assault, as well as use of a firearm during a felony crime.

They say Scroggins was released from jail after posting $2,500 bail.

Police say they began investigating Thursday at 4:20 p.m. when a driver reported that another driver had pointed a weapon at them while they were on the inner loop of I-495 near Annapolis Road.

Investigators say they tracked down Scroggins and searched his vehicle during a traffic stop, when they found a loaded gun.
