ROCKFORD -- Hundreds of people flocked to downtown on Aug. 15 to celebrate the ninth annual 815 Day, a day celebrating local businesses, organizations and the rich history of Rockford.

The day featured a plethora of activities, including a block party on East State Street featuring activities, games, and giveaways. Along with that, a guided bus tour highlighting businesses and the history of Rockford was offered to residents and visitors.

"This really is one of my favorite days of the year," Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara said. "It's a day that many of us get to get out and love on our city."

Over 125 events, specials, and deals took place as part of Rockford's 815 Day celebrations. With the help of The Miracle Mile Rockford, many businesses were able to participate in the festivities.
