President Donald Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin shook hands warmly at the start of their Alaska summit on Friday as the U.S. seeks a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump said Thursday he hopes the summit will lead to a second meeting that would include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
