GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - For half a century, Green Bay Area Public Schools special education teacher Russell Beckman has been traveling the country with a unique goal, visiting the grave of every United States president.

According to a Facebook post from Green Back Schools, as of May 2025, Beckman has just one site left to see, the resting place of President Jimmy Carter.

The post says Beckman, a 2020 Golden Apple Award winner, recently detailed his decades-long journey in an article published by The White House Historical Associations award-winning magazine.

His presidential encounters from Vermont to California have inspired his life and reflect Americans’ respect and affection for the men who have led the nation for more than two hundred years.
