Most people could spend their whole life seeking perfection, in anything, and never achieve it.

But in baseball, there's a name for it, a measure of spotlessness, called the perfect game.

It's simple beauty: 27 up, 27 down.

And 13 years ago Friday, on August 15, 2012, Felix Hernandez was perfect.

It's one of the greatest moments in the history of the Seattle Mariners.

On that day, the Mariners hosted the Tampa Bay Rays. Seattle entered the day 10 games under .500. There was nothing to play for.

But all of a sudden, Hernandez was dealing.

He went nine up, nine down, and then Brendan Ryan singled, stole second and was driven home by Jesus Montero for a 1-0 lead.
