Just as the sea was angry the day George Costanza plucked a golf ball from the blowhole of a whale, the West Michigan Whitecaps have played angrily since losing the series opener to the TinCaps on Tuesday.
The Whitecaps held the TinCaps to just two hits in a 5-1 win on “Seinfeld Night” on Friday at Parkview Field, handing Fort Wayne their third straight loss.
Even without many hits, eight walks gave the TinCaps plenty of opportunities to score that they failed to capitalize on, including a bases-loaded situation in the eighth.
“We’re creating opportunities offensively, and we’ve kind of bailed out their pitching by swinging at some bad pitches,” TinCaps manager Lukas Ray said. “It’s kind of just getting back into what we do as an offensive unit and then pairing that on the same night th
