A Coweta commissioner sought disciplinary action against a county resident for voicing opposition to the Project Sail data center — a project over which he has voting authority.
In a June 19 email obtained via a Georgia Open Records Act request, Coweta County Commissioner John Reidelbach asked the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to reprimand an employee who spoke at a Board of Commissioners meeting and drafted an environmental study on the site.
Reidelbach sent the message from his campaign email address rather than his government-issued account.
It became public through the open records process because the recipient is a government employee.
