CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The wife of the South Carolina state trooper who died as a result of a crash during a traffic stop in Orangeburg County, spoke about her loss and had a message for drivers.
Trooper First Class Dennis Ricks, 30, died Wednesday , three days after he was hit by a box truck during a traffic stop.
His widow, Jade Ricks, spoke to reporters Friday about her husband and their life together.
“Marrying Dennis was truly the best choice I ever made in my lifetime,” she said. “There is not one person on this earth that was made better for me, and I truly believe we were meant to be and that we have that kind of love that you only get one time in your life. My heart will always belong to Dennis.”
She said her husband wore the uniform because he believed in serving others.
