It has been five months since a Bessemer barber and father was killed when his vehicle crashed into a large piece of industrial equipment that was dropped in the middle of Interstate 59/20.

His family is still searching for answers.

Terence Bernard Summers Jr., a 24-year-old father of three young children, was killed during his lunch hour on March 18.

His family, their attorneys, and police are trying to identify the driver who dropped the one-ton load.

“I would like them to put themselves in my shoes, and my family’s shoes, and what if it was their son?” said Terence Summers Sr.

“Mistakes happen. We know this. But you could have stayed to make sure he was alright.”
