KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) -- The voice of Bart Simpson recently returned to her hometown after roughly 5 years in hopes of inspiring more Ohioans to pursue their artistic dreams.
Kettering native Nancy Cartwright told WDTN her journey began when she was just 10 years old.
She participated in a competition where she read aloud "How the Camel Got His Hump" by Rudyard Kipling and made people laugh from her head movement.
She later moved to California to pursue her voice acting dreams, and was later cast as the iconic Bart Simpson.
At Rosewood Arts Center in Kettering, Cartwright has 15 reverse painting pieces on display. Cartwright said that reverse painting is personal to her, as it has played an important role in the animation industry.
