TWIN FALLS — The police department is urging residents to be on the lookout for credit card skimming devices after such a device was discovered at a local business.
These devices can compromise your personal information and lead to financial fraud.
While the Twin Falls Police Department is not releasing the name of the business involved during the ongoing investigation, it says the company has taken the necessary steps to ensure that none of its other machines have been compromised.
Police give these tips to protect yourself:
Inspect Card Readers: Look for signs of tampering, such as loose or bulky parts.
Use ATMs Wisely: Choose ATMs located in well-lit areas or inside bank branches. These are less likely to have skimming devices.
