A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the northern Twin Cities metro on Friday evening.
The warning, issued shortly after 5 p.m. and in effect till 6 p.m., warned of winds of up to 60 mph and large hail in excess of an inch diameter.
Hennepin and Anoka counties are included in the warning, with northwestern and northern suburbs of the Twin Cities in the target area.
It comes after torrential rain swamped the Twin Cities on Friday afternoon, raising concerns about localized flooding as in excess of 1.5 inches of precipitation fell in a short period of time.
