AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A new 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is coming to Amarillo and will change the way patients recover from life-altering injuries and illnesses.

Encompass Health, the nation’s largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, is partnering with BSA Health System to own and operate the facility .

BSA plans to relocate its existing 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit to the new site. The vacated space inside BSA will be repurposed to expand acute care capacity.

“This will allow us to move into a hospital that’s currently at 50 beds with the ability to expand in increments of 20 to as high as 90 beds,” said Matt Parker, vice president of cardiovascular services at BSA.
