CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Hamilton County programs serving hundreds of vulnerable students and the elderly are in jeopardy after millions of dollars were withheld.
Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio operates the AmeriCorps Senior Companions and Foster Grandparents programs in Hamilton and Clermont Counties.
The programs in Clermont County weren’t up for renewal this year, so their funding is secured; however, this was not the case for Hamilton County programs.
“It was really a surprise because the funds for the programs were appropriated,” CEO of Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio Tony Stieritz said.
