(KRON) -- A blaze at a four-story Berkeley Hills home Thursday evening was quickly contained by the Berkeley Fire Department but ended up displacing two residents and causing $150,000 in damages, said officials.
BFD said it started receiving several 911 calls at 5:18 p.m. that reported flames and black smoke pouring out of a home on the 500 block of Arlington Avenue. Firefighters said the fire was coming from the back side of the residence when they arrived.
Berkeley Fire said the two occupants had already exited the home before crews got there.
"The fire was knocked down within 4-6 minutes," said Berkeley Fire in a statement to KRON4. "Crews spent some time making sure that the fire did not travel through the walls and into the attic space."
There were no reports of any injuries.
