The Ector County ISD Board of Trustees will consider approving the name of the new middle school being built on the west side of Odessa.

The new middle school is one of the projects being financed by the $424 million bond approved by voters in November 2023.

The school is scheduled to open in August 2026. The cost is $120 million.

It will enclose 194,794 square feet and accommodate about 1,000 students. It is the first new middle school built by ECISD since Crockett Middle School in 1981 and the first one outside of Loop 338.

The school colors are Shamrock Green, African Grey, and Incredible White.

A committee was formed to help determine the name of the school and the mascot. An online survey was also conducted in English and Spanish.
