MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Deputies arrested a 40-year-old man Thursday in connection with a fatal car crash from August 2024 in Madera County, the sheriff's office said.

The Madera County Sheriff's Office arrested 40-year-old Brandon Johns. Deputies said that Johns was wanted in connection with a fatal car crash in August of 2024 on Highway 145.

On Aug. 14, the Madera County Special Enforcement Team, with support from the Madera Narcotic Team and Madera County Sheriff's K-9 Odin and his handler, executed a search warrant on the 17000 block of Island Drive.

The sheriff's office also said Johns is a registered sex offender who had recently removed his ankle monitor.

Johns was booked into the Madera County Jail and is being held without bail.
