Burlington’s Owen Caissie made his Major League Baseball debut for the Chicago Cubs in Toronto against the Blue Jays, Thursday afternoon.

Caissie, who attended Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School on Headon Forest Drive, went hitless in four at bats as Chicago’s designated hitter Aug. 14.

The 23-year-old hard-hitting outfielder was robbed of an extra-base hit, on the first big league pitch he faced, by Jays’ left-fielder Davis Schneider.
