Huntsville Police Department's DUI Task Force has launched a citywide crackdown on impaired driving, starting Friday. The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign will run through September 2, focusing on safety checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement.

Sgt. Antonio Shorter of the DUI Task Force explained that grant money is enabling them to expand their efforts beyond checkpoints. Officers will also be on the lookout for speeding and other traffic violations. He emphasized the importance of planning ahead to avoid driving under the influence.
