Overnight closures are coming to a stretch of the Island Highway later this month as work ramps up on the Galloping Goose pedestrian and cycling bridge.
The highway will be closed between Wale Road and Goldstream Avenue on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and again on Friday, Aug. 29, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detours will route drivers along Wale and Goldstream, with signage and traffic control personnel in place.

Local traffic will still be able to access the area, and emergency vehicles will be given priority.
On-site work is set to resume Aug. 18 as crews prepare to install the bridge spans and decking over the highway.
