ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — State Sen. Darryl Rouson is approaching the end of his term. The lawmaker, who is currently the longest sitting Democrat in Tallahassee, is term-limited from running again to keep his current seat. However, he’s considering whether to run for a seat in the Florida House of Representatives.
“I'm figuring it out. God only knows what's next,” Rouson said.
The longtime lawmaker represents District 16, which is a portion of St. Petersburg. His district also goes into Tampa and other portions of Hillsborough County.
Rouson said he could use his voice as a private citizen or possibly as an elected official in a different seat.
