Tristan Thompson 's son Prince is thrilled to be a third grader.

Thompson, 34, took Prince, 8, to school on his first day of third grade in a rare video shared via the basketball star's Instagram account on Wednesday, August 13. The video first showed Thompson letting Prince ride in the passenger's seat of his car before cutting to a clip of the father-son duo strolling down a sidewalk together.

"You heading to school?" Thompson asked Prince, whom he shares with ex Jordan Craig . "There you go, big third grade. What are you most excited about third grade?"

Prince responded, "Getting a Chromebook because you can bring them home and bring them to school."

When asked what else he's excited about, Prince said, "You can get prizes in third grade."
