PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A party supply store in north Portland was destroyed by a two-alarm fire on Friday afternoon, according to firefighters.

The fire started around noon at Boom Boom’s Balloons on North Lombard Avenue.

Firefighters quickly called a second alarm due to the size of the fire and the danger of it spreading through a shared attic into adjoining businesses.

Crews said they were able to contain the fire to just the party store, and the businesses next door were not damaged.

Portland Fire said the party store was open at the time, but everyone was able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
