While the historic talks are happening inside Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, outside of the gates, national and international media have all eyes on Alaska.

Anthony Wells, a correspondent with Portuguese outlet SIC Noticias, exclaims, "The people here are very friendly, and this is a unique opportunity. I'm glad it's happening in Alaska, to have the eyes of the world turn on this location of the world."

Lights, cameras, and dozens of news crews have been set up here outside of the JBER since Thursday, all eagerly awaiting the news that’s occurring inside the base.

Anthony continues, "Positive expectations that at least a first step can be taken towards peace. Hopefully, in the near future, we can get a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin."
