To coincide with high-stakes war talks at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (J-BER), a massive Ukrainian flag was unfurled in downtown Anchorage Friday afternoon.

Dozens of Ukraine supporters gathered at the Delaney Park Strip to display what organizers say is one of the largest Ukrainian flags in the world, measuring more than 40 meters long.

Patrice Lee, a supporter who traveled from Fairbanks for the rally, said, "It's just so heartening to see people standing with respect and honesty and the fact that we need world peace and more love. We need to turn up the love."

Organizers say the rally came together in just 48 hours, from initial concept to flag design, including shipping the enormous flag all the way from New Jersey.
