Clay, N.Y. — A false 911 call that a person had shot his parents sent police rushing to a Clay neighborhood on Friday night.

Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Doug Roser confirmed to Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard that the call was fake.

At 6:47 p.m., the caller reported a shooting on Deerfield Road, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches.

“The caller is stating that he shot his parents and also wants to kill his siblings,” dispatchers told officers.

The caller was reported to be on the move and threatened to shoot firefighters and police responding to the call, according to dispatches.

A dozen police cars rushed to the street. A helicopter was reported over the scene.
