SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Pepper, Scott County, Virginia Animal Shelter Adoptables' longest "shelter baby" has finally found a home after 561 days. He came to the shelter in February 2024.

News Channel 11 spoke with the shelter on Friday to ask about Pepper's history and learned that a shelter attendant, Ellie, had an essential role in the adoption.

Today, the man who came to adopt was actually looking at Titus on the page and came to inquire. Ellie tries her best to learn about the adopter and match them with the perfect dog. When she learned the man lived alone out in the country with no other animals she asked him to meet Pepper. She had him take Pepper out and told him everything about him and he fell in love with him.
