SPRINGFIELD, Va. (DC News Now) -- Police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle in Springfield on Friday evening.

In a post just before 8:50 p.m., the Fairfax County Police Department said that officers were in the area of Old Keene Mill Road and Westmore Drive for the crash.

The motorcyclist, a man, was taken to the hospital. Police said that he had life-threatening injuries.

Officials said that the other driver stayed at the scene after the crash.

Old Keene Mill Road at Hanover Avenue was closed for the investigation. Police asked drivers to use a different route.
