PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - On Friday, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the Arkansas River is back open between Florence and the Pueblo Reservoir after a fallen tree was removed.
On Monday, a large tree fell in the water, blocking most of the Arkansas River, 3.3 miles above the Swallows.
A majority of the tree was removed from the river just before noon on Friday.
Wildlife officials said the root ball is still in the water and is clearly visible to boaters, kayakers and tubers. CPW said it is still considering options to remove the root ball.
