Hawaii lost its first game at the 2025 Little League Baseball World Series today at Williamsport, Pa.

Hawaii’s inability to come up with clutch hits and a rough fifth inning contributed to a 5-1 loss to Connecticut.

The West Regional champion stranded eight runners and also had two runners thrown out at the plate.

Hawaii will play in an elimination game Sunday at 7 a.m. against the winner of today’s game between Illinois/Pennsylvania. Sunday’s game will be broadcast on KITV.

Bronson Fermahin allowed one hit and three walks with eight strikeouts over four innings against Connecticut. He left with Hawaii ahead 1-0, and was replaced by Mason Mitani.

Hawaii took a 1-0 lead in the third on Josh Tanaka’s double to right-center, which scored Kuana Payanal.
