LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Masked Rider mascot was taken to the hospital after the university said she was involved in a riding incident on campus Friday evening.
The university confirmed the incident and said the masked rider was transported to a hospital for evaluation where she is recovering and is in good spirits.
Centennial Champion, the Masked Rider horse, was secured and is safe.
The current Masked Rider for the 2025-2026 school year is Rose Rosas, according to the university’s website . Rosas grew up in Brady, Texas, and is a junior at the university. She is the 64th Masked Rider of the university.
