The gate link connecting passengers to and from gates 70-99 at Orlando International Airport went down on Friday. It caused massive crowds and led some people to have to walk to get to their gate or the terminal.
People on social media shared pictures of packed spaces, with what looked like hundreds of people trying to reach the tram. Some passengers said they were waiting for hours.
Based on posts from the airport on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, they first said the gate link to and from gates 70 to 99 went down around 5:45 pm due to what they called an unexpected disruption.
By 7:08 pm, the airport posted that one of the trams was back open. By 8:35 pm, service had been fully restored.
