Syracuse, N.Y. — Interstate 81 in Syracuse will be reduced to one lane in each direction this week overnight as part of the ongoing I-81 Viaduct Project, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The closures are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. next Monday through Wednesday, DOT officials said. Crews will be doing bridge work during that time.
Closures will affect:
I-81 northbound between Exit 18 (Adams Street/Harrison Street) and Exit 23 (Park Street/Hiawatha Boulevard)
I-81 southbound between Exits 23A-23B-22 (Hiawatha Boulevard/Destiny USA Drive/Bear Street) and Exit 20 (Franklin Street/West Street)
The work is weather-dependent and subject to change, DOT said.
Drivers are asked to use caution in the work zone and pay attention to traffic control signs and flaggers.
