HOUSTON -- With family members and friends filling the stands at Daikin Park, Brandon Young took the mound Friday night about only 95 miles west of his hometown of Lumberton, Texas, eyeing his first big league win in his 11th career start.
The Orioles’ rookie right-hander did a bit more than that.
Young had a perfect game going until the bottom of the eighth inning, when he gave up a two-out infield single to Ramón Urías, who was traded from the O’s to the Astros on July 31. It may not have ended up as a historic night, but it was still a memorable one for Young, who tossed eight masterful innings during Baltimore’s 7-0 win .
