MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Justin Sayles is the host of the popular true crime podcast The Wedding Scammer, and after seven episodes over two years, the man at the center of it all, Carl John Butcho, has been arrested.

"He was somebody I spent all this time looking into. I'd spoken to so many people who were wronged. So many people that he'd owe money to, that he'd broken their trust and ruined their dreams," Sayles said.

Some of those dreams were supposed to be beautiful weddings held at Charleston Lane, a venue on Lake Conroe in Willis.

Back in May, we reported several Houston area couples were out of thousands of dollars after booking their weddings before it suddenly shut down.
