WASHINGTON — A video showing what appears to be federal agents removing a sign from Lamont Park in Mount Pleasant has sparked anger and frustration among residents.
The sign, a shower curtain featuring profanity-laced criticism of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), was reportedly torn down Friday morning.
Surveillance footage reviewed by WUSA9 shows the moment the sign was removed. The agents in the video have not been formally identified, but a source told WUSA9 they appeared to be federal law enforcement.
“Honestly, I was disgusted but not surprised at this point. These people are Trump’s thugs,” said Tyler Sylvester, who lives in Mount Pleasant.
