NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — For more than two dozen physically and mentally challenged adults, it was game on at Arute Field in New Britain .
As the Central Connecticut Blue Devil Football Team prepares for their season opener against the University of Connecticut, they took time out from their practice schedule to host the “Beautiful Lives Project”.
Tony Gionfriddo, the executive director of The Beautiful Lives Project said, “We’re a nationwide non-profit; we work with those with disabilities, and we get them out of their environment and try different things.”
While separated into different groups across the field, everyone was on the same team for the workout.
Stars like running back Elijah Howard, a former Virginia Tech player who transferred to CCSU and was the NEC Player of the Year
