ELLIS COUNTY, Texas — A man from Fort Worth was arrested Friday after resisting a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper during a traffic stop in Ellis County, according to DPS.
The agency said the incident happened around 3 p.m. on U.S. 287 near Black Champ Road, when a trooper attempted to pull over a red GMC pickup for a traffic violation. As the truck slowed, the front-seat passenger got out and ran north on foot. The truck eventually stopped, and the driver resisted arrest when the trooper tried to detain him, DPS said.
During the struggle, the trooper sustained minor injuries but was able to take the driver, identified as 28-year-old Jose Molina of Fort Worth, into custody.
