PICAYUNE, Miss. (WLOX) - Mental toughness and extra effort — these two things have served as keys to the Picayune Maroon Tide’s unprecedented success.

Since 2001, the Maroon Tide have made the playoffs in 23 out of 24 seasons and have appeared in a South State Championship game each of the last 4 years. In that same span, the team won back-to-back MHSAA 5A State Championship titles in 2021 and 2022.

After finishing last year with a heartbreaking loss to Hattiesburg, head coach Cody Stogner ’s senior class has its eyes set on pushing through to the ultimate goal.
