SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — A 19-year-old man from Sevierville died earlier this month in a car wreck on Douglas Dam Road.

Family members said Kevin Lopez was traveling with friends on August 3 when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree.

Lopez was the only person in the car who did not survive the crash. He had just graduated from Sevier County High School three months ago.

"I just don't want anyone to forget who he truly was," his cousin Arianna Paz said.

His family said Lopez had just gotten home from work when he went out with friends.

"He was in a car with his friends, they were all 19-year-olds and they were going double the speed on Douglas Dam," Paz said.

His family said the car collided with a tree. They believe alcohol played a role in that night.
