A 2024 state consumer protection lawsuit against a Santa Fe spa accused of scamming its customers has been settled for $350,000, the New Mexico Department of Justice announced Friday.

The settlement agreement, which was signed Aug. 12, includes no admission of wrongdoing or liability by the Santa Fe Spa Center, SHM Group or owner Sahar Hori.

The lawsuit, filed in September 2024, accused the defendants of violating the New Mexico Unfair Practices Act by using aggressive and deceptive practices to lure customers inside, where they often were charged double or triple the verbally agreed-upon prices for their purchases, according to the news release.
