A man was sent to a local hospital in critical condition Saturday morning after Santa Fe police found him in a field with “multiple stab wounds” near the Church’s Texas Chicken on Sawmill Road.

Police responded around 10 a.m. and a suspect has been taken into custody, said Santa Fe police Deputy Chief Ben Valdez.

“There's no information to lead us to believe that there's any suspects that are outstanding at this time," Valdez said.

No charges have been filed yet, Valdez said, since the investigation is still in its preliminary stages including securing a search warrant, processing the scene and conducting interviews.
