SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KVOA) - Cochise County voters are gearing up for a significant decision this November. They will vote on a proposed half-cent tax increase to fund a new jail.
In the lead-up to the election, Cochise County is organizing several public meetings to inform residents about the special election. These meetings will provide an opportunity for voters to learn more about the proposed tax hike.
The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Fire Department #3. Subsequent meetings will be held in various locations, including Douglas, Huachuca City, and Elfrida, among others.
Residents are encouraged to attend these meetings to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the proposal.
